Matchweek 3 came and coincided with our launch of live streaming with Mycujoo video platform and there were again games worthy of that partnership.
FC Stone Mountain 2 – 4 KSA Pro
In our first match of the day, FC Stone Mountain was looking to bounce back from 2 defeats in their first 2 games when they matched up against a strong KSA Pro team. But it was KSA Pro that put the Granites on the back foot in the first half storming to a 4-0 lead by half time.
It could have gotten worse for Stone Mountain in the 2nd half, but adjustments were made by manager Owen Clarke and they looked a different team in the 2nd half. It was Stone Mountain now with energy grabbing 2 goals back and narrowly getting a 3rd late on and even saving a penalty, but it was not enough as KSA Pro held on for the victory vaulting them to 2nd in the league table on 6 points and on goal difference.
KSA Pro-Profile 6 – 1 Forest Rovers
The 2nd match of the day saw KSA Pro-Profile match up against league leaders Forest Rovers FC in what was building to be the marquee match up of the weekend. The first half fulfilled that billing as they played to a 1-1 tie going into the break. This included a 43 yard equalizing goal from Rovers forward, Martin Lugo notching his 2nd long range effort in as many weeks.
The 2nd half was all Pro-Profile however as they turned up the heat and eventually running out 6-1 winners with 5 second half goals! To be fair, Rovers 2nd half efforts were hampered by injury to 3 of their players with one staying on to play at 50%. The race just got tighter at the top of the table!
Seas Jamaica FC 4 – 1 Atlanta Generals
In our 3rd match of the day, possibly one of the more consistent performers, Seas Jamaica United FC were attempting to rebound from an embarrassing result the previous week where they gave up 8 goals to KSA Pro though scoring 4 of their own. Today’s opponents were the league’s bottom club, Atlanta Generals.
Generals are looking to forget their drubbing at the hands of Club ATLetic in a 8-nil mauling the previous week. Though the performance was better for Generals this week, they still fell short by the score of 4-2. Generals will need to steadily work to improve results going forward while Seas will need to build on this recent success to challenge at the top of the table.
Honduras 5 Stars, 4 – 4 Club ATLetic
The last match of the day but certainly not the least was the match-up between Honduras 5 Stars and Club ATLetic. Action went back and forth between these 2 teams as Honduras was first to be on top of the match shooting to a 3-1 lead in the first half only to have Club ATLetic claw their way back in the match and arguably were the better side in the 2nd half.
The final score would end all equal at 4-4 and would be a fair result for the efforts put in from both sides. Both will have tough tests next game with Club ATLetic playing defending league champions FC Yardaz and Honduras 5 Stars to play a Forest Rovers team that will be looking to come back from a disappointing result this week.
